Who we are
The Green Gather is the public name of this community app. The official website is
thegreengather.com.
Public contact:
[email protected].
Incoming mail to that address is forwarded. This page does not say that outgoing mail
is set up, or that a reply or response time is guaranteed.
Christopher J. Sneed operates The Green Gather as an individual, under the public name
The Green Gather. It is not operated by an LLC or a separate company. A registered
address and any required privacy representative are not listed on this page.
What The Green Gather is
The Green Gather is a 21+ community application. Members can create accounts, build
profiles, post community content, message other members, discover professionals and
businesses, join Gather Sessions, and browse educational rooms such as Wellness &
Support. The Green Gather does not sell cannabis or process cannabis payments.
Accounts and identifiers
When you create an app account, sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth. That typically
includes:
an email address
a hashed password stored by that provider (not as plain text in the app)
session tokens used to keep you signed in
After sign-in, those tokens are stored on the device in ordinary app storage so the app
can restore your session. That storage is not a hardware-backed keychain. A fresh
launch can ask for your password again to unlock the app; that password is checked with
the sign-in provider and is not saved on the device. Email confirmation and password
reset also go through that provider.
When you accept the in-app Terms, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and cannabis
disclaimer, the app stores the policy key, version, and timestamp on your account. That
record is used to ask for acceptance again if a required version changes.
Profile information
A profile can include:
username, display name, bio, and avatar
typed city
birth date and a 21+ attestation, used to enforce the product age rule
profile visibility (public, members, friends, or private)
Circle answers (how you partake, who you want to reach, energy, and intent)
professional or business listing details if you apply for those roles
Birth date is used for the product 21+ rule and may appear as an age, not as the full
date. Member features that create content currently require a birth date at least 21
years ago and an affirmative 21+ attestation.
Older interest tags may still exist on an account even if that editor is not shown in
the current Profile screens. A location-precision field can affect how city or country
is used in discovery. The current profile editor does not let you change that field; it
defaults to city-level.
A “Verified” label, if shown, is an internal profile flag. It is not a self-serve
identity check, and this app does not collect government ID photos.
Location
You can type a city on your profile. Discovering people nearby uses that typed city,
not GPS. Region can appear on some business or professional listing flows.
If you use “What’s Close to Me?”, the app can ask for
optional foreground device location
and send current coordinates to search nearby public business listings. The in-app
screen states that precise location is used when you ask and is not saved to your
profile. If you deny permission, that nearby search does not run.
Approved business listings can store an accepted map location for that listing.
Community Sessions currently store a city you enter. The create-Session screen does not
collect map coordinates. Exact on-site addresses are not collected in the current
create flow.
Needs confirmation: how long a nearby-search coordinate is kept in server logs, and
whether any future feature will persist GPS on a profile.
Posts, photos, videos, and other user content
If you post or upload, The Green Gather stores the content needed to show that feature.
Current uploads use the device photo library. Media files can be stored in private
Supabase Storage buckets (including avatars, profile photos, profile videos, post
photos, and gallery items). The app often reads private files with time-limited signed
URLs.
The app can also store Lounge or Circle posts and comments, art you submit, recipes you
save, music playlists you create, Now Spinning posts, creator applications, and
connection or friend requests.
Long-form creator videos store metadata and streaming identifiers. A streaming provider
(planned as Mux) may process and keep copies under that provider’s terms. Account
deletion in the app does not show a step that deletes those provider copies.
Messages and chats
Direct, Circle, and Session chats store message text and membership in the application
database. Messages are visible to conversation members. Accounts with an admin or
moderator role can also read conversations for safety and enforcement.
Do not assume chats are end-to-end encrypted. The current app uses ordinary database
storage. We did not find a separate message-encryption layer in the code.
Needs attorney review: moderator access to messages and any required user notice.
Live Sessions and device media
Gather Sessions can use LiveKit for live audio and video. If you host or join a live
room, camera and microphone permissions may be requested. Live media is transmitted to
operate the room. This page does not claim that rooms are recorded. If recording is
added later, that would need its own notice.
Ordinary photo and video uploads use the device photo library. Camera and microphone
access in the current app are for live Session rooms, not for ordinary uploads.
Needs confirmation: LiveKit region, log retention, whether any room is recorded, and
the exact list of LiveKit subprocessors on the live project.
Music and listening links
Some Music features can open Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube Music in another app, or
— on iOS — play Apple Music catalog tracks on the device after you allow Music access
in iOS. The Green Gather does not host the recordings. Playlist and session rows in The
Green Gather can store a provider name and track ID.
This page does not claim that a MusicKit account token is sent to The Green Gather
servers; that path was not found in the current app code.
Business and professional listings
If you apply to list a dispensary, cultivation business, or professional presence, we
store the listing details you submit (such as name, description, city/region, optional
website and contact fields, and approval status). Business applications and profiles
may also include a street address, address line 2, postal code, country, and geographic
coordinates associated with an accepted business location. Approval is an in-app listing
decision, not a government license.
Wellness & Support and Cultivation Education
Wellness & Support and Cultivation Education are static reading rooms in the
current app: you browse published topics and leave. We did not find a per-user journal,
analytics events, or therapist-client records in those rooms.
Reports, blocks, and in-app notifications
Reports include a reason, optional details, and the content or account you pointed to.
The reported member is not shown who reported them. Moderators can see reporter
identity in a protected review queue. Blocks are stored so you stop seeing each other
and cannot message each other.
The app stores and shows in-app notifications (for example, after some comments). We
did not find push-notification tokens or push delivery wired in the current app code.
How the app is hosted
The Green Gather uses Supabase for authentication, the application database, file
storage, and realtime features. Live Sessions use LiveKit. Creator video may use Mux.
The public website may be served by a static host such as Cloudflare Pages. Those
providers can see ordinary connection data such as IP address when you connect. That is
ordinary hosting behavior, not an in-app advertising SDK.
We did not find advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs in the current app
package list. Optional features (news summaries, local events, waitlist verification)
may use other providers if those backends are turned on.
Needs confirmation from the live projects: hosting region, backup retention, log
retention, and a complete subprocessor list (Supabase, LiveKit, Mux, Apple Music on
device, email forwarding, any CDN or DNS host used for this website, and any news or
events providers if enabled).
Website waitlist
This website does not currently collect waitlist emails. There is no public waitlist
form and no site analytics script in the current website files. If you email
[email protected],
your message is sent by your mail app and forwarded. That is separate from an app
account. A live waitlist service has not been verified.
If a waitlist service is later enabled, those rows are designed to be stored in The
Green Gather’s backend (Supabase). Deleting an app account does not automatically
delete a website waitlist row. To ask for an earlier website form email to be removed,
write
[email protected].
See Support.
Needs confirmation: how long any earlier waitlist emails are kept, and the process for
removing them if a row exists. The public website form is currently disabled.
How information is used
Information you provide is used to:
create and maintain your account
show community, discovery, and Session features
enforce the 21+ product rule and community safety tools
review reports and listing applications
send authentication messages through the auth provider
This draft does not claim that The Green Gather sells personal information. There is no
advertising or data-broker integration in the current app code. Later ads or analytics
would require an updated policy.
Your privacy controls
Edit some profile fields and profile visibility.
Delete individual posts and profile media from those screens.
Block another member.
Report content from inside the app.
Delete your account from the in-app Safety Center. See
Account Deletion.
This page does not claim that every setting is user-controlled. Location precision, the
Verified flag, and some discovery fields are not editable in the current Profile
screens.
Retention and deletion
Active account data is kept until you delete the account or we remove it for
enforcement. If in-app deletion succeeds, the current server function is designed to
delete listed posts and media files, delete music playlists and certain other records
tied to the account, remove applicant-created business listings, clear this account’s
creator link on platform-public listings without deleting those listings, anonymize
profile fields, and delete the login. Because the login delete can also remove the
profile row, do not assume a “Deleted member” profile remains visible.
Reports may remain without your account attached. Other members may still have copies
of messages you sent until those conversations are removed. Infrastructure backups,
logs, support emails, waitlist rows, and streaming-provider copies may last longer.
This page does not state a retention period.
Needs confirmation: written retention schedule, backup deletion, legal-hold process,
and whether waitlist or support emails are included.
Children
The Green Gather is not directed to children. The product rule is 21+: a birth date at
least 21 years ago and an attestation. The Green Gather is not for minors. If you
believe a minor is using the app, use the underage / minor-safety report reason or
contact Support.
Needs attorney review: how the product 21+ rule relates to child-privacy laws that use
a different age, and whether additional age or location rules are required.
What this draft does not promise
specific retention periods or deletion timelines
encryption guarantees beyond what the current architecture provides
that no infrastructure provider ever sees an IP address
that support email is monitored or that a response time is guaranteed
legal compliance certifications
that every privacy or discovery setting is under the member’s control
Incoming mail to this address is forwarded. This page does not claim that outgoing
mail from this address is configured, or that a reply or response time is guaranteed.
Use in-app reporting and the Safety Center when those tools are available.
